Charidy runs the campaign. Kosher Email sends the thank-you and keeps the donor on your list for the next appeal. The two connect through Zapier, with no code.
What the connection does

Every donation, captured
Each new donation in your Charidy campaign reaches Zapier through Charidy's own donation trigger.
Straight to your list
The donor is added to the mailing list you choose, or the record is updated if the donor is already there.
A personal thank-you
Optionally, a thank-you goes out by SMS or email, in English, Hebrew or Yiddish, from your approved sender name.
Ready for the next appeal
When the campaign ends, your donors are already on a list, ready for the dinner invitation, the year-end update or next year's campaign.
Set it up in Zapier, about ten minutes
Kosher Email runs on the Meser 10 platform, so in Zapier the app is called Meser 10
- In Zapier, create a Zap with Charidy as the trigger app and its donation trigger, shown in Zapier as Export Donations. Connect your Charidy account.
- Add Meser 10 as the action app and choose Create or Update Contact. Connect it with the API key from your account's API settings.
- Map the donor's name, email and phone from the Charidy donation to the contact fields, and type the list name exactly as it appears in your account.
- Optional: add a second Meser 10 step, Send SMS or Send Email, with your thank-you text. The SMS sender name and the email reply-to address must be approved in your account.
- Test with one donation, check that the donor reached the list, and turn the Zap on.
All the actions and triggers are listed on the integrations page, and the same actions are available directly through the API.
Good to know before you switch it on
Field names. Charidy's donation fields appear in Zapier when you test the trigger. Pick the ones that hold the donor's name, email and phone number.
The list name must match. A list is found by its name, so renaming the list in your account breaks the Zap until you update the name there too.
Consent. A donor who left an email or phone number for a receipt is not automatically a newsletter subscriber. Send the thank-you, and make sure you have consent before adding donors to promotional mailings.
Questions
Does connecting Charidy need a developer?
No. Both sides are ready-made Zapier apps. The setup is choosing the Charidy donation trigger, the Meser 10 action, and which donation fields go where.
Is this an official Charidy integration?
It connects Charidy's public Zapier app to the Meser 10 Zapier app, the platform Kosher Email runs on. It is not a joint product of the two companies, and Charidy does not need to set anything up for you.
Can the thank-you be in Hebrew or Yiddish?
Yes. Send SMS and Send Email accept any language. For a Hebrew or Yiddish email, wrap the HTML body in an element with dir="rtl" so it reads right to left.
How fast does the thank-you arrive?
Zapier checks Charidy for new donations on a schedule: every 15 minutes on Zapier's free plan, and more often on paid plans. The thank-you goes out within minutes of the donation, not seconds.
What does it cost?
The connection adds nothing on our side. Each SMS comes out of your SMS package and each email out of your account's sending, at your normal rates. Zapier has its own plans.
